Community First Responders work entirely voluntarily and all the equipment has to be purchased by the group. We DO NOT receive any funding from the West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS). WMAS do, however, provide all training free of charge. This means that we have to raise funds, by various ways, to purchase and maintain the equipment that we use. The list is quite extensive, and to kit out one member typically costs about £3500. We raise funds by donations from charitable organisations, friends, businesses, trusts and the public and by sponsored events.
